Started in 2002, Very Merry Theatre is a Vermont-based theater company for children and teenagers, ages 6-18. Each year, our young thespians collaborate on the performance of VMT’s original musical adaptations of classical drama and literature, as well as other licensed musicals and plays.
In the summer, the centerpiece of Very Merry Theatre is a unique, 19th century style traveling theater wagon, complete with a fold-out stage, which is transported to community settings, transforming local parks into live theater venues for our performances. Very Merry’s permanent home is called “333” and is located in Burlington’s old north end. At 333, we have four seasonal sessions that include productions, workshops, classes and special events and performances. Every year, Very Merry produces shows at local schools.
Through our collaboration with Burlington Students Foundation, Very Merry has been able to reach hundreds of students at local schools who otherwise would have little opportunity for performing arts enrichment.
